Is my 710bk a fake?

Hey folks,

I've never had a 710 so I don't have one to compare this to. I bought it from Knifeworks and it arrived today. The only reason I am even second guessing it is the D2 stamp on the back of the blade is under the thumbstud rather than behind it. It also doesn't say "BK" on the back of the blade like other BK coated blades I've had.

It is a little stiff opening and closing and I am attributing that to the coating and just needing to wear in a bit. I have adjusted the pivot and loctited it as well.

What say ye?

I highly doubt knifeworks would send you a fake. That being said, I don't have experience with this model.

I don't think Knifeworks would either. I am thinking maybe someone put a fake in the box and returned it or something.

Honestly I'm thinking it's 100% legit and maybe BM just started putting the logo in a different place.

Mine is behind the thumbstud, but I don't think KW would sell fakes. Maybe its a new or old way of doin it.

I got some answers over at the Benchmade company forum and it's a legit knife. Thanks though! :)

Yeah, really good to hear. I trust KW 100% but was thinking that David might have been right.
I think KW would have probably caught a fake. I like the older stamping better though.
