Is my Boa a dud (part 2)

About a month back I complained that the pivot on my Boa was working itself loose, well I got a new pivot from Kershaw, and now I have a new problem. :-(

Basically Its got some serious blade play. If i tighten the pivot to remove the play, the blade sticks when i use the flipper/stud (adding some oil to the hinge seems to make very little differnce even though i cycled the blade say about 2 dozen times to make sure it has good coverage.)

Do all Boa's have the blade play problem? I'm kind of suprised, cause my Leek has almost zero play.

There shouldn't be any blade play. The Boa is a very well-made knife. I'd send it back to Kershaw for repair or replacement. I assume you are refering to side-to-side play. ANY vertical (up and down) play is totally unacceptable and is usually not adjustable by the owner.

Send it back. My Boa is solid as a rock after 2 years, it opens very smoothly too. Kershaw should take care of you, they have a good reputation.

I have the same problem.......too loose or too tight.

Also the grind is uneven, when you look down on the tip of the blade from the top, it looks off to one side.

I gotta send it in sometime too.

I sent Kershaw an email over the issue, suggesting I ship the knife back to them. I'll pass the results on. You should return that Boa, an uneven grind is a fluke with a company like Kershaw.
