Over the course of about 10 openings or so, the pivot screw works itself loose, so much so, that sometimes i can hear the torsion bar slip our of place?

Is this common?
TIA

Not at all normal, contact Kershaw Knives and have them fix it.

I'm sure Kershaw will fix it if you send it to them but you might find it more convenient to fix it yourself -- all you need is some Locktite. You can get that at any hardware store.

I think the silver end cap for the pivot screw may be just slightly short, because its relatively easy to tighten it to the point where the blade wont spring foward at all.

..and when the screw is too tight the liner wont kick in properly. Best thing would probably be to put a washer in there, Im not keen on glueing the thing shut, Oregon is on the other side of the Atlantic, and beside i voided the warranty when i took it apart to see what the problem is....

Don't worry about "voiding the warranty" with disassembly. Just contact them and send it back. Kershaw has very good customer service and this is not normal for the Boa. Mine has been very good to me over the past couple of years and I've never had to adjust the pivot.

i'd definitely send it in, then you could give us a review of their service too :)

loc-tite is a good solution, but not on a Kershaw that does'nt seem right. I'd consider some of the premium pricetag as going towards a better warranty and support, and i would'nt hesitate to use it if i needed it. Sounds like you have good cause, and i would expect they'll make the knife right for you.

I'd definitely contact Kershaw. I bought a used Boa about a month ago that came without a thumbstud. I contacted Kershaw on it and they had one in my mailbox within 4 days. I'm sure they'd take care of you too.

 Isn't that simply called over-tightening the pivot?

Loctite... quick, simple, useful on all your other knives... why send your knife however many thousand miles just to have Kershaw's warranty department put a dab of Loctite on the pivot? You can even use nail polish you haven't got any Loctite. In any case, an extremely tiny amount applied to the threads is all that's needed.

Yes and no, if its in anyway tight, it doesen't open properly, but if its in anyway loose it gets REALLY loose.
It's kind of hard to put your finger on, but something is not right with the pivot.

I'll give them a ring and let everyone know how i get on...

send it in to kershaw if ya want but i bet they loctite the thing, this is common i have had all kinds of knives loosen up (inc spyderco/EKI/BM/buck-strider/ all come to mind, and ya wont be out your knife for several weeks. just be carefull, and clean the screw w/alcohol/etc, and dont over tighten it,

good luck either way
