Hey guys. Wondering i you SAK geniuses could point me in the right direction. I'll list everything that i would want on a SAK (i own a swisschamp but it's sometimes too big to carry). I was wondering if you could point me towards one or a custom one that has these features. I would like the same size as the swisschamp, handyman, huntsman, etc.

-Large Blade
-nail file/wood file
-saw
-scissors
-pliers
-straight phillips
-magnifying glass
-can opener
-bottle opener
-chisel
-small flathead (like a 90* flathead, not the cork screw one)
-reamer
-Pen
-toothpick and tweezers
-pin

I can also deal with the fish scaler or corkscrew with eyeglass driver. The hook is one im iffy about, i do use it occassionally. If i had to drop a tool from the list besides the pen, it would be the chisel i guess. I honestly enjoy the swisschamp, but i wish it had an easier carry method besides the case i carry it in. I like being able to reach into my pocket and use the tool, but this thing rides all crazy. I have translucent red scales and the glass magnifying glass. I had one with plastic magnifying glass but gave it to my brother.

I don't know if a SAK exists with the specific tools and no others, but you can search for them at:

http:www.sakwiki.com

Most likely you're looking for a 91mm SAK, either a Champion, Woodsman or other 4-5 layer style.
Good luck. I carry a Deluxe Tinker in a belt pouch when out or a Tinker at home.

There is no perfect SAK.

There's a special office in the Victorinox headquarters, where all the models are evaluated. When they come up with a perfect SAK, they deliberately change one tool to make it less perfect. This of course is done to insure that you will buy more SAK's in the never ending search for the perfect SAK, that Victorinox will never make.

It's all a trap for the unwary!!!!

:D

Another handy tool:

http://sakselector.info

Allows you to search models by the tools you want, and will even point out discontinued models.

In my quick search, most many models offer the magnifying glass, saw and pliers all in one package.

Your best bet is the Swisschamp, it has all the implements you listed. One implement less, you get the champion, two less, you get the Handyman, etc.

No other one compares except the larger Wenger models, similar in weight and size to the one you own.
Swisschamp:

Champion (lacks pliers, much less bulk and width):

I do love my swisschamp, I just wish it were more pocket able. I own a huntsman lite, a swisschamp, a centurion and a camper. The only two I carry are the first two listed really. I'm picky about the Philips driver, I don't like the one on the cork screw side. The pliers I didn't think I would use, but they're so precise I reach for them over tweezers. I don't really use the smaller knife. The fish scaler I only use for the ruler. Otherwise, I use everything else on it at some point or another. The chisel, hook and corkscrew are used sparingly.

In twenty plus years I've had it, every implement has been used multiple times except for the small screwdriver mounted on the backspring side. It carries easily for me dangled behind my wallet into my LF pocket, but I wear jeans, which have high pockets. If you wear jeans, you're golden. I use a length of paracord with a knot on the end, tucked behind my belt to hold the Swisschamp upright. It doesn't carry so well in slash pockets like you find in slacks or other types of work pants, but I don't mind sheath carry.

Fly out to Switzerland, I understand the Victorinox company store will assemble a knife to your specs on the spot. You also get to see Switzerland.

You may be on the wrong path, in my opinion, looking for the ONE knife that has everything. In my opinion, a better pan might be to look
for the SAK that complements other items you have for what you need to do. I get by pretty well with a Victorinox Spartan and a Classic t
to complement my folding lockback pocket knife, small multi tool with pliers, pocket pen light, ballpoint pen and other items. Trying to add more gadgets to the pocket knife will only add bulk, weight and expense. Only my opinion, for what it is worth.

It's a never ending quest indeed. Find complimentary models that fill your requirements if you don't want all your tools in one basket. I really like having a Farmer and Classic together; it gives me the inline awl, a good saw, sturdy main blade, etc, plus scissors, a small file, extra blade, T&T etc... all without having a super thick unpocketable tool.
