Is my small Sebenza washer ok?

Hello,

I have been collecting CRK for about two years now and presently own two large Sebenzas and five small. My newest small arrived yesterday and like I always do I took it apart, cleaned it, and immediately applied more CRK flouro grease than the factory does because I find that it works smoother for me that way. i put the knife back together and it is smooth as butter and operates just like my other ones however I noticed one minor difference. The small perforated washer on the lock side rotates approx. 0.5 mm each time I open the knife. I can see it on close inspection.

I loosened everything, took the blade assembly out, put it back and tightened everything up again - including the pivot, and can still see a very small rotation of the small washer when I manipulate the blade. On all mo other Sebenzas the washers stay absolutley put in place while the blade rotates around them.

As I said, the function is perfect and the washer only rotates a very very small amount. Is there something wrong here or am I just being too picky? Can anyone offer an opinion as to why this is happening?

Thank you in advance,

GSY

Did you apply lube to both sides of the bronze washer....!!! I only ever lube the side that mates to the blade and leave the un-lubed side to grab the scale. I have had over 100 sebenzas and have never noticed one moving. I have actually looked for that also, it's just never happened to me.

I did in fact lube both sides of the washer. I didn't think of that being a problem but perhaps your right and that is why is is moving. I'll try cleaning some off the handle side tonight. Thanks for the suggestion!

Lol. Your title made me laugh after I read the content. Its nothing to worry about. I've seen that. Usually goes away after a little more tightening or use. But yes she is OK.

Thank you BellaBlades. I'll likely just clean off the washers and just use the grease on the blade side but glad to know its not a problem
