I see the tang of a laredo is actually radiused (slightly) unlike the trail master.

What about the nathez, and more importntly, the new natchez in SK5?

Not quite sure what you mean by 'disassemble'. Its not a take down knife if that's what you're referring to. I dont think you could remove the handle without breaking it off. Why do you want to change the guard?

possible desire to put a trapping guard on it.

I think the pommel screws on and off, but if the handle is epoxied on then that would be probably not worth it since the handle would not be easily replaced since its not a full tang knife.

Its a cable tang..... sounds like that job would involve a fair amount of work but I'm sure it could be done.

i thought i remember hearing that the Nathez could be tigtened or disassembled w/ a spanner wrench, unlike the laredo which has its nut ground smooth

Sounds interesting. I have the Laredo, and I was just handling the Natchez at a gun show last weekend. The Natchez does look to have two spanner wrench like holes in the butt, but sorry, I don't know if it is also epoxied, which is likely.

That would be nice it it could be taken down that easy, I'm waiting for the SK-5 version to become available, and I will most likely want to customize it some, like I did my Laredo. :)
