Does the One Hand Bandit (I think that's what it's called) that is sold at eknifeworks.com allow you to open a blade with either hand? Anyone have any experience with these devices, good or bad?

The One-Armed Bandit is only textured on one side. You could open the knife from the other side, but it would be a bit slippery.

I have one on a Pakistani made stiletto ;) Like the other forumite(s) said, it IS reversible.
Nice item ; kinda dated though, what with all the knives being made these days with either thumbstuds or holes
but will be useful for some time to come ;)
