Is Rhino waving unhealthy?

I'm about ready to have Bill Siegle perform a Rhinodectomy on a well used Commander. One option that I've yet to decide is the removal of the wave. I read where there is a safety concerns waving this blade style. Please comment on your experience regarding Rhino waving. Oh, any jokes about Rhino waving while on safari would be appreciated as well.

I believe the major concern surrounding a wave on a Rhino is the removal of the blade from the thigh.
There might be some discomfort involved.
