Is Robert Parrish still alive?

I'm pretty sure he is still alive, and no, he doesn't have a website. I think he still lives in Hendersonville NC. He may even still make the odd knife, but he stopped taking orders long ago.

I heard very recently that he had died. Although I have no way to verify this. My first custom knife in early 1984 was a Parrish Hollow Handle Survival knife. Price $185.00. Wish I had bought 50 of them.

I haven't seen a non pre-owned knife in about 7 years.

I haven't heard anything about Robert in about three years, so he could have passed away in that time. I had read that in early 2003 he was still making the occasional knife.
 
I decided to do a little sleuthing when I read this and uncovered a thread posted in April of 2007 by a stated owner of a Parrish knife, in which he made reference to calling Robert up and seeing about returning the knife to him for sharpening.
I also turned up the following info from a firearms industry guide....hope it helps......

I have had a survivor on order from him for years, since 1997. I spoke with him on the phone prolly 5 years or more ago. He, as has already been mentioned, is refurbishing antique surveying equipment. He told me that he is still making the "Occasional" knife, but I still await his call or letter.

I have picked up 5 now. 2 in mint condition, 2 "Beaters" and a near mint sunfish. I do a search of the net every few weeks. That's how I have found mine.

I wonder if anyone of you can finally reach Robert or not. My problem is : I placed an order to Robert 15 years ago and tried to contact him but in vain. Please kindly let me know if you got his contact information. Although the issue is that I had already paid the full amount, the key is I really want that knife made by him. A million thanks indeed !

thanks. I did finally reach him via email but very disappointed that he did not have any record of sending us the knife. We in fact did not receive anything from him. Do you or others have any such bad experience?
