If I order the Doug Ritter RSK Mk 1 or the Mini RSK, is that what everyone refers to as the Ritter Griptilian? Does it go back to Benchmade for service when the time comes? OR...is there a knife directly branded by Benchmade that is the Ritter Griptilian?

Thanks.

Yes, the RSK and Mini RSK are the Grip and mini Grip. As for your 2nd question, I don't know. I'd assume they all go back to BM for service, however. Don't quote me on that! :D

Yes, the RSK1 is the ritter grip. Fantastic knife. I have had the S30V one for many years. Also have a first production mini ritter grip, however long that has been. Haven't had a reason to send them back so can't answer that question although I would assume so as it is made by Benchmade.

Yes, and yes. Those are the Ritter Grip & mini-Ritter Grip, and they go to BM for any servicing that needs to be done.

Thanks for the help. Searching for a dozen classic folders, people have been saying get a "Ritter grip." Couldn't find the distinction between the 552/558 at Benchmade & the RSK/mini RSK at Knifeworks. This clears it up.

Many people equate the Grip to a Benchmade product. There are probably more of these made than any other, and in all of their variants the Ritter version stands out. Why? It's the high flat ground blade. Still available in S30V they're now made in M390 and are winners. There are those who don't like the plastic (spelled bombproof) scales, but custom replacements (scales) can be had that do improve the look and feel.
