Is someone going to review the SIFU?

Just wandered if someone planned on reviewing this knife in more detail than the once over fit and finish evaluation. How does it perform? How tough is it really? How well does it cut, etc...

I guess not. I would sure like to hear a little about the feel/performance of this knife. It may be my next purchase and BF opinions never fail to educate me...

IT ROCKS

More specifically, the lockwork is solid, the blade has held an edge well even with cardboard cutting.

There's been ONE dissatisfied customer so far. That guy was in a legal climate where he couldn't carry it, therefore it just didn't float his boat.

With or without a clip, it IS a physically practical daily carry piece. I built a kydex sheath for mine, see the REKAT forum for a description and blueprints, it's a particularly simple design. VG and one other guy are going to beta-test it, I'm building them tomorrow.

Make no mistake, this is a FIGHTER first and foremost. If you're buying it for any other purpose you may be disappointed.

But if you need something that'll snap open cleanly, feel solid in the hand and cause a mugger to soil his unmentionables, this is so far the ultimate folder and hence the ultimate Calif-legal concealable fighting blade.

(The 5.45" blade length was chosen for Texas legality in addition to California.)

I second what Jim says, but I will add that it is also the best folding Totino's Pizza knife I have ever used. the wide flat blade is great for prying the pizzas from the rack, and the recurve makes short work of sectioning it. IT is a better all around kitchen knife than the Vaqero Grande because of the hollow grind and thinness of the blade make it easier to cut through potatoes and such..

And with the 1" copper washers that Corduroy installed, and the buffing I did to the contact areas on the tang, it is smooth and really really strong. Corduroy also installes a Halpern Titanium clip as well. I love my Sifu. THe production quality has come a long way from the first pioneers I saw. REKAT went all out with these knives.

Get one and be the first on your block to have the perfect defensive pizza knife..

I=t also functions pretty well on Tombstones and DiGiornos as well. I assume that it would make short work of them little Jeno's ....

glad i'm not the only one that uses all my "tactical/fighting" knives in the kitchen. i felt like an idiot before, but i always thought it was a good testing venue. now i'm justified

It's an awesome knife! I usually like more traditional knives; this is my first knife with a G-10 handle, but I love it. I got mine on Christmas Eve and have had it clipped IWB almost constantly ever since. It's not uncomfortable at all. Actually, now that I'm used to it, the one day I went to work without it I felt uncomfortable all day!

The action is incredibly smooth; maybe it's because I have the Black-T version. I've heard about people having problems with the gritty stonewash finish making the action less smooth, but mine is the smoothest production knife action I own.

I haven't cut anything with it yet, believe it or not. I just haven't found a job my Sebenza wasn't up to. It's always clipped to my right front pocket, so I haven't felt the need to whip out the Sifu yet! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the options Spark mentioned in the for sale forum, like the carbon fiber handle...

Ryan, you can see the carbon fiber model on REKAT's website, www.rekat.com .

Just because I talk to myself does not mean I'm crazy. What's wrong with getting a second opinion?
