A friend of mine just bought this 0301st off craigslist. It looks different than my 0302. Is it just a small design change or what? I also noticed it almost looks the titanium on the lock size of his is almost broken out where the screws go rather than small holes drilled out like on mine. I tried to take some pictures of it but I only have my cell phone. It also has a blank hinderer lock bar stop instead of one that says Zero Tolerance. Tiger stripes also look "off" to me. There's no hole in the lock bar for the detent ball, and the area near the pivot is drilled out whereas mine isn't.

Here is my 0302, notice the differences in the lock bar and where the screws in the scale go through? And the lock bar stabilizer actually says Zero Tolerance.

Could it be a factory second/xxxx that didn't get marked, looks worlds away from the quality of your knife, or was used alot/worn.. Did he pay alot

My 030x's have the relief radius cut near the pivot nut as pictured on his knife. Lessens the chance of cracking at that point. I'm guessing your knife must have a low SN.

Here's a condensed picture. Also, when the 0301st is closed, the lock bar will actually slip out a step on the thumbstud. It's kindof hard to explain. The lockbar is what the thumbstud hits to stop it when closing, and it sticks out a little too far and you can press the blade down gently and it will pop the lockbar out a little bit and the lockbar goes down a step on the thumbstud.

i recently purchaced a 301 new from kershawguy and the stabilizer is blank, this must have changed at some point. The striping on my also looks more like the 301 you have shown.

It looks legit. The handle screw holes look larger because they are chamfered. The screws are just a bit shorter, the length can vary a bit from batch to batch. The lockbar cutout is a newer style that we have used, and the hole that you refer to is normal. The tiger striping is done by hand, so no two will be exactly alike. Finally the newer lockbar stabilizers are plain. Nothing to worry about, just running changes to the product.

Thanks a million Jimmer! That's exactly what I wanted to hear.
