i just received this from bladehq.com ... it looks as if the handle or the frame is warped. i can stick a piece of papter in between the gap with great ease. it makes me wonder if other debris will get lodged in there...

if this is in fact a defect, should i return to bladehq or can i come in and have this replaced? i live pretty close to oregon city
 
Yeah that doesnt look right, mine is tight all the way across. I would return it if I were you.
 
Definitely something wrong, send it back or ship it in to Benchmade for warranty service.

Bit of news...Benchmade does not check these posts, I would call Blade HQ first to see what they'll do - I would ask for a paid return and exchange. Further I would ask them to check the knife before shipping it to you. Now - should you choose to go with Benchmade's warranty services, here's the link to their website based paperwork to fill out and send in along with the knife.

Due to the awesomeness of a certain member here I have had a chance to own a 530 in 440C. ( ;) )

They certainly do not look like that.

Fortunately BKCs CS is absolutely top notch. I've heard nothing but good about BHQ too.
