Is spyderco lightweight police as strong as the g10 model? I have the g10 and am sad to see it was discontinued. Might look into Coldsteel since Spyderco became SpyderSreel with the new light weight.
In theory its not a strong, but there probably isn't enough of a difference to matter. Anything you did to it would very likely break the blade before the handle.
You could hammer on that lightweight stuff all day and not dent it. I believe it's FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon), a nylon polymer mixed with glass fiber and then injection-molded into the desired shape. Ideal for folding knife handles.
The Police 4 LW still has steel liners, so the difference is probably going to be marginal at most. The G10 scales are more rigid, but also more likely to break than FRN, which is incredibly tough stuff.
