Based on several sources I think fast quench+cryo+low temper yields better toughness and edge stability than a industry standard high-temper 3V.
Am I wrong?
Anyways, curious about how SR-3V is tempered.
Knowing that Busse likes cryogenic treatment, I'm 99% sure it's low temperature tempered (400F or something like that), after that deep cool. High temper after cryogenic treatment doesn't make sense to me.
I'll wager 1 whiskey and a half, Jerry has experimented with what yielded a more durable blade and went with it. Jerry has also never been one to share what they do for heat treat either.
