Is Stellite 6K the same thing as Talonite??

No, though they are certainly related. Talonite is Stellite 6BH (H standing for hardened). There are many types of the cobalt alloy called Stellite. Many consider 6K to be the better knife making alloy though I have seen great blades that are made from either one of these materials.

I have both 6bh and 6k blades. i believe the 6k has a little more carbon in it. It seems to finish a little better as well (you will be hard pressed to find a satin finished talonite blade). Both are awesome blade materials but 6k seems to have an advantage in edge holding to me, but that is quite unscientific.

I've got a Talonite EDC and the flats are polished up pretty nicely.

YES! They are so similar as to not worry. The only difference is, (as bandaidman stated), is that Stellite 6K has a slightly higher Carbon content. You can't go wrong with either!
