I see an add in my magazine that says: "extreme wear resistance* NO HEAT TREATING REQUIRED* no corrosion* grinds easily*"

is it true that heat treating is not required?

if so, then how is it that its "easy to grind"?

Probably do you a world of good to do a search using the term Talonite, plenty of posts regarding it's characteristics.

I'm still efforting that question as I type, I've had my Carnivore with Talonite blade now for a few weeks and it does hold an edge well, plus did some pretty slick slicing of a grapefruit the other day, two actually, after I peeled it I sliced it into bite size chunks and left the juice on the blade a while to see any colouration, nope but then I didn't leave it all night.

Rob Simonich, perhaps has a biased view since he is the sole distributor of the material, but then I think that he is a pretty straight shooter and wouldn't lead anyone astray either! So do some homework and run a search to see what all you come up with, here and in the Custom section as well.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold the great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads...And His tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

i've been telling that to all my friends that have "good intentions". well, rob's talonite is good stuff i've heard, it's a type of stellite, low on the rockwell scale but excellent abrasion resistance, which means longer edge life. i don't know if it'll perform like d-2 or bg-42 though. rob's a nice guy, he'll tell you the through about the stuff if ou ask him, he's on the forums so he may even respond to your post.

works better....but it doesnt grind easy.. relatively easy is a better term....it grinds easier than hardened tool steel...but not easy...doest rust....costs a lot...but how else is rob going to pay for that mercedes????
