all right, here's 4 pics. In at least one of them and no more than three of them, I have a 21" GRS in its original HI scabbard under my jacket. Can anyone spot which Ross is carrying a short sword?

And here, for reference, is everything that was in my pockets when the pictures were taken. Note that some of this stuff was in my pants pockets, and some was in the jacket. This is a fairly normal load of junk for me to be carrying. Usually there's a toque and a spoon in there somewhere, though.

Well, it's 20+ degrees overhere where I live a few day back (Celius). You would be in T-shirt.

Please try the same stunt for us . :D

Plus there will be at least a few hundreds of people watching what you do at any given moment.

**envy you** :)

Can't really tell, only guess.

If I wanted to conceal a blade that large, I'd most certainly wear under an armpit. Where are you carrying it?

I'm sure though it would be easier to spot live in person, especially when you are moving.

Under the shoulder, slung on a belt resting on the opposite shoulder. Because of the size and the curve, the buttcap pokes forward a little bit. (you sort of can see this in one of the pics, but prolly only if you know what you're looking for) Sitting down is no problem since I rounded the chape.

Ok, I am assuming we're talking about the same, just using different words. What I am usually concerned about is practicability. Can you draw the blade from that position? Will it still be out of sight when you take your jacket off?

I'm usually carrying a fixed blade when it gets dark, but while I try to keep it concealed, I also worry about being able to actually have access to it. Plus, when you go somewhere inside and take your jacket off, you dont wanna scare people ;)

hahaha, it's a 21" khuk. You can't hide that without a jacket. I can lounge around with the jacket open, though. Just can't take it off.

Because of the size, drawing it is a bit awkward, but doable. It would be simpler with an 18 or 15" one, I think.

I'm really not interested in drawing it from this position, though -- this is just a quiet way to carry it past all the sheeple and off into the woods.

True enough.

Now that you mention it, I just remembered having done that as well. Not with a 21" though, merely with a 15" AK :)
