Is the "2001" version Endura any better??

This is direct from the Spyderco Endura lightweight webpage.

"New for 2001: Enhanced tip strength, a deeper "well" mounting for the reversible clip (eliminating clip rotation) and the addition of the David Boye dent in the locking lever."

Forgive me if I these are dumb questions, but, were there previous problems with tip breakage and clip rotation??
I was planning on buying one of these knives and all the stores that I looked in only had older models (only difference I could tell was that they didn't have the dent in the locking lever), these already had a well for the clip. Is it worth waiting till they get some of the 2001 model, or just buy one of the older ones??

Well (ha),

I had an Endura98 for only about three months (it's now back at Spyderco) when one side of the well became bent (for want of a better term). It will now no longer remain in place, but rotates at will. My guess is that, being too shallow, the wall of the well could not handle the pressure placed on it by the clip (in the hands of the average user).

This is the only problem I've seen in an otherwise perfect Zytel handled folder.
If they deepened the well, the metal clip is definately the way to go with this model.
