Here over the last couple of months the only knife that has been consistently in my pocket is my 550blk. I just cant get enough of that blade and even as a blem I dont have one negative thing to say about it.
Now the dilemma...I have always really liked everything about the Blur except for the inserts and how high it rides in the pocket. When I saw the new carbon fiber version was being released I was on the fence about it and decided not to get it. This weekend I was looking around on the web debating on what to spend a little of my refund money on and I saw the blems on Dave's site. Soooo I bought two.
When I got the package (highly recommend Kershawguy; ordered Saturday and got them Monday) and first opened it and looked at them I have to admit I still had my doubts about them. But I just had to go and pull one out of the bag. It is a little larger than I usually prefer for a "gentleman" type carry but it is such a sleek and overall appealing knife that I would use it for that role and as of right now hasnt made me want to go back to the 550 yet.
I have gotten used to the weights of the larger knives and really dont ever notice them but this blade makes me think I forgot something at home. It does ride a little higher than I prefer but I can get past that. It opens fast and smooth and locks up rock solid. The centering is almost 100% on both and they were very sharp, easily shaving hairs. The carbon fiber is smooth and I could see where some people wouldnt want that for certain conditions but for my edc uses it doesnt bother me a bit. I prefer it actually. The trac tek inserts (unless it was on some old pants I wasnt concerned about) would shred the insides of my pockets after some time.
If you have an opportunity to pick one up I would highly recommend it. Sorry for being so long winded but I am just surprised I found something to (possibly) replace my 550 as my main edc.
