Is the Air worth it?

The Air interests me but I've not seen much about it lately. What do folks think about it - is it worth the money? I handled one two years ago in TN and was indifferent but now I'm swayed to think I want one.

It is very nice. But it is small and very light, if that isn't your thing you may be disappointed. It also lacks a pocket clip that said, the scales are very nice as is the M4 blade steel. I'm a sucker for wharncliffe blades.

Its a bit pricey for such a small spyderco but the materials are not something you can find just anywhere. Stylish, light, clipless, but cuts like a monster. If you are looking for useful value it can be found imo elsewhere in the lineup but that one has MAJOR personality. Regret selling mine just never used it enough.

It's a very nice little Gentleman's folder that's also fairly tough. The Wharncliffe blade of M4 is very practical and cuts for a very long time. Very well made and smooth. No pocket clip. It's a titanium liner lock with handle material of Titanium / Glass Fiber Laminate. Weighs just 1.3 ounces. M4 is not stainless so more care needed.

You can get one now for about $130! A real little gem!

Worth every penny! I didn't get enough use out of mine to warrant keeping it, but I will certainly be buying another in the future. Besides the top shelf materials, the action is perfect. Smooth and controlled opening/closing has been compared to a sebenza with good reason.

Definitely worth it. I love its size, light weight, M4 steel, blade shape, scales material.... Just everything except the lack of a pocket clip. But still I carry it a lot.

I have 2 of them but they were both bought from guys who bought them and did not like them because of the size and I paid about a half of what they cost and both are NIB's ~~ they are watching one of my Safes as we speak like most of my Spydies do.!! LOL

YES!

ok I won't shout. I looked at pictures but never went for one. When I got one, my only regret was it took me so long. Great office edc. Great little cutter, easy to carry, pretty to look at, a lot of knife for the size. As long as you don't need a full-fist grip (get the bigger Bradley or lots of other options for that), it is a great little knife.

I daily carry one I rehandled in mammoth ivory in a small leather sheath.

It is so sharp and slicey.

That does it. I'm buying one. Aside from a mnandi and small insingo I've carried a thumstudless E6 William Henry for two years primarily in the office, and it's great. But I dig the blade steel, wharncliffe blade, spyder hole, Ti liners, weight, and overall aesthetics of the Air. Also I remember it made a solid click! opening. Thanks all for the recommendations.

I've had two that I've gifted to son-in-law and a grown grand-daughter. Carbon fiber, M4 steel, Wharnie blade, great for office/college.

I'd give it an absolute YES vote... For things already mentioned here on this thread. It even has Ti liners! It has a classy look like a traditional but has a linerlock and one hand opening of course. Wait till you experience the butter smooth pivot action!

I'd carry it in a leather slip pouch like your Mnandi. Very nice.

I would really like one...but the price and lack of clip has kept me from buying one. Maybe I can find a used one to try.

I acquired one recently. I used the fig leaf that I was looking for a small, flat, lightweight knife that my girlfriend could carry in her purse. I also slid a Cold Steel Hold Out III in under that same fig leaf. :)

So, yeah. It's totally worth it!

It can't replace your primary EDC for sure but I loved this little guy.
Fit and finish is amazing. Great fondling knife. Glass fiber handle is beautiful and unique.
M4 cuts like no other but don't use it on food. It will patina. I used tufglide on it for protection.

Worth every penny! Not for everyone.
