Is the Ayoob part of the MBC series?

Yes and No.

The Ayoob is part of the MBC lineup, but the lock is "Heavy Duty" rated like the Endura.

I am having difficulty deciding between the Ayoob and the SS Native for EDC.

The Native is rated heavy duty too, right?

EDIT: I found out it is hollow ground on the Spydie website so that q was struck.

As an owner of 3 Natives (FRN, G-10, and SS) I can say that the Native is a great EDC. I would have to say that it is my favorite Spyderco design. The handle fits my hand well and feels very secure. Although it's not part of the MBC lineup, I'm sure it would be dependable in a self-defense role.
