I have not seen the benchmade 690-01 with the carbon fiber and white bonded ivory handle folder for sale at too many online retailers. Is the benchmade 690-01 a limited addition folder?

Regular catalog item as far as I know. There is no limited edition verbage on the the blade.

Originally, I heard that the 690-01 would be a Limited Edition of 500 or 1000, but apparently this contradicts BM's web site...

Mr. nonbox,

Who sells the Ford Explorer except Ford? I doubt that you're gonna find a Spyderco 690-01.

Gollnick, you did not understand the question! Which online retailers sell the knife? Benchmade has it for sale on their website but why doesn't other online retailers have it for sale also?

nonbox,

I think stock will be your biggest problem. 1sks, knifecenter, knifeoutlet, and knifeworks all have it listed. Knifeworks has it for the cheapest that I can find (little more than 115 bucks), but there may be a cheaper site. Again, I don't know if they have it in stock...

Benchmade seem to have a policy that favors Brick & Mortar stores. They make sure that these stores get stock and don't really seem to care if online dealers get stock or not. This is because they do not allow anyone that sells their knives to advertise them at below retail. I have heard that online dealers have to get benchmade knives from other suppliers than Benchmade.

KWM: I find that interesting. My local B&M dealer can't get a 730CFHS for me and some internet dealers have been selling them. Go figure???
