I was wondering this because as I was playing with one day I loosend the blade and simply pulling the axis lock back allowed the blade to fall into position. I live in N.C. and they are illegal here. Can anyone clarify its legality?

As I mentionned in a lot of threads, about any knife can be flicked open if the pivot is loose enough.

But if flickable knives are illegal where you are, just don't take any chances and get the pivot tight enough so it won't. Or get it just loose enough so you can start the opening with the stud/hole and the finish with a wrist flick, but do it only if needed; use a normal opening for daily uses.

A question for you: If the pivot is loose enough to flick like you say, does it create a bladeplay?

At first none but that was two years and hundreds of thing cut inbetween know their is a negligable amount but unless it bothers you it won't affect performance or otherwise.
