There's a rumor that the Buck Strider collaboration is coming to an end? Is this true? When will this happen?

Everything ends, eventually. :D

Welcome to Bladeforums!

Where did you hear the rumor? Sources vary. We have a Buck Knives Forum. They don't seem to have anything on it, but you could ask there.

Esav, someone either here or KF stated they had talked to Strider and that Strider said it was comming to an end. THIS is TOTALLY UNSUBSTANTIATED!!!

it's the truth.

i dunno if buck is completely discontinuing their buck/strider lineup, but i know they won't be making any new models.

i heard it from duane dwyer himself at the chicago custom knife show. they did a seminar on the "evolution of the blade" or something, and the subject was brought up.

bummer.

:(

Check the link in guy_g's post above: Buck/Strider.

According to CJ Buck's post in that thread, Buck and Strider will continue to collaborate.

You won't know until it is official. Just because this series ends doesn't mean another collarboration won't take place later with or without Buck.

Would this really affect anyone? I've never seen a Strider knife in person in my life and I've heard about the Buck Strider, but never seen one of them either. That makes it really hard to go buy one, when you've never even seen one in person.

They are both quite popular, within their own price ranges.
I'm not arguing that, I'm just saying that they're impossible to find in a retail outlet. I have no idea where to go to find one and Strider certainly isn't helpful when I contact them.

I was really quite surprised when I went looking for a Buck/Strider. I figured I would give the design a chance and see if it was all its cracked up to be. Nobody had any, then I stopped at some hole-in-the-wall Army-Surplus. I was amazed at the selection, I thought they mostly carried junk. They had various Buck/Strider folders and a fixed blade. I was prepared to purchase one, so I handled them....and bought a couple SAKs instead.

Anyways, you might check those places if you have any around.

At one of those overpriced House Of Knives shops here in Canada they had a Buck/Strider Police utility. I'm sure if i can find a shop to play with those in, anyone can, you just gotta look a bit harder than you'd think you'd have to sometimes.

I just hope they don't stop makin' 'em before i get to buy one. I have a thing for Buck knives and Striders look real tough.

ahh.

i just read CJ Buck's post in the buck forums.

looks like i spoke too soon.

hooray for buck/strider.
