Is the CRKT M16 Titanium tanto worth $79.99? The knife has AUS 8 steel. My aluminum handle M16 tanto was $45 and it has the same steel. The CRKT M16 Titanium tanto has the lawks which my aluminum lacks. Both have the flipper.

My aluminum version opened smoother new when compared to the titanium version I handled.

that is, of some reasonable quality...
The question is... is Titanium worth the premium...

I don't think so, but some do.

I think it is worth it, given that you get ti scales AND the LAWKS. I have one LAWKS knife, and I love that safety.

NONBOX:
Are you talking about the M16-14T? Where did you see it for sale at $79.99 That is a fairly low price for that knife.

Personally I hate the LAWKS safety and I wish they would stop putting them on their otherwise great knives. That said, yes, the ti folder is well worth getting. Great action!

It's selling for $79.99 at 1sks.com so help support this forum.

shane45-1911, I have not purchased it because of the combo edge. I emailed crkt but they did not give me a straight answer. They just said they are always coming out with new models. I will wait for a plain edge version. I hope they make one in the future.

You guys need to use your email and tell them what you would like to see. They are very responsive to customer input.

Sorry for resurrecting a 1 1/2 year old thread but I just got one in a trade. My answer is Yes it's well worth it! Great fit and finish, great ergos (those holes make for reat indexing), slim thickness, Smooth as buttah, and of course Titanium.
My only gripe is that I wish that the clip was higher up on the handle. I guess it's better for easy draw but quite a bit of knife is showing when walking around amongst non-knifenuts.

My complaint is that titanium is considerably heavier than aluminum. What I would like to see is someone using the Scandium aluminum alloy that S&W uses in their lightweight revolver frames for a knife handle.

It's the spear point that's $79.99. The tanto is $20.00 more. Have to click the drop down to get the tanto price.

The Ti M16s are only part serrated. Has CRKT stopped production on all plain edge M16s? Will CRKT make any more plain edge M16s in the future?

You could buy the plain-edged aluminum version to switch the blade into the titanium handles, but that makes for a rather pricey knife. I don't see any functional difference between aluminum and titanium.

Are there aluminum M16's with LAWKS? I think that I heard about the newer ones being equipped with it.

Al ones come with LAWKS, old ones didn't. PE in Al is also discontinued, so you have to look around
