Is the custom shop backed up this time of year?

I ordered a custom 110 to give as a Christmas gift two months ago. I have e-mailed Buck, but I have gotten no response yet. Is the custom shop backed up this time of year? I hope I get the knife before Christmas.
 
I think they tend to get backed up just before Christmas. I ordered one around Labor Day and It took about 10 weeks to receive it. They will do their best to get it to you before Christmas.

yes they are backed up + i heard that joe is working OT
in the shop at times to help out so you may get one by joe his self!
if it's a buck it is worth wateing for it to be made frish jest for you!
 
Was considering getting myself a little Christmas present-----sounds like I should wait till after Christmas.

I put an order in during the month of SEP. Still waiting.
NOT COMPLAINING...as stated earlier in this thread, I'd rather have it done right.

But if you want something for Christmas, it better be for Christmas 2007.

If mine is not right, well, it may be the first and last. It wouldn't be so bad if the turnaround was like 45 days. But I'm now on about 90.
It would probably be better to get one from my Buck Brothers that have one through a buy or trade and I know the guy is a stickler for quality.
That said, I'm looking for a 110NS FG Koa with Pins and other than 420/440.

I ordered a 110 on Sept.21, 2006 and haven't heard a word about its Christmas delivery. All I want is a reply to my inquiries. If I have to wait until July 2007, I can make that work, just let me know. The Buck Web Site says 4 to 6 weeks to expect knife. If there are Christmas delays, then say so.
 
Just read this forum and this is very concerning I will meet with Joe and find out why this is taking so long and we will fix this, as these timelines are unaceptable. Phil Duckett Executive V.P

...I'm with you there Marv...Not worried about when I get it just hoping that I get what I ordered and what a "Custom" should be...Let 'em take all the time they want to get 'er right...:thumbup:

Phil D - Perhaps you could also ask why substitutions are being sent out without any approval from the customer...or why there is no communication with the customer on such issues...
