Title says everything.
I was wondering if my First Production BENCHMADE full size SKIRMISH 630 is more valuable than a regular one.
On the blade it's written ' 0255 FIRST PRODUCTION'...while on the regular ones it's nothing written on the right side of the blade.

I have both regular and 1st production. I've heard it doesn't add much to the value unless of course you have 001 of XXX. The seller however did make me pay too much for it but I was a knife noob and I just had to have one. It was my first BM. They are great knives... I wish I can have more of them but alas my pocket is not a bottomless pit filled with cash. I say anything below USD200 is reasonable for a NIB piece,

For a regular user knife, I wouldn't care about "First production" mark too much. If knife is for collection, maybe occasional use, then I probably would pay a bit more for the "first production" or any other limited run.
Since the knife is discontinued, I would say it is fair to ask (or pay) just a bit more for a "first production", but not too much.

ortho is right, the 3 holed ones are kinda scarce and worth a small premium,

on BM stuff, 1st pro-run, prototypes, etc rarely bring a premium, i have had quite a few thru the yrs, dozens in fact, IIRC exactly 2 went for more than a std would have.

why? they simply make too many of them, while spyderco might make 3 -5 prototypes, and they rarely get outta golden, BM makes 400, 500, etc and they ship one to everyone.

I prefer a plain blade, no numbers. As to first production, I'd rather have one made on wednesday. ;)

The BM 630 Skirmish was introduced in their '04 catalog at MSRP $220 and ended a year or so ago at $280, with some combo/coated variants at $292. As they have been gone for a while, pay what you can afford for a nice one - they are worth it! The BM 635 Mini Skirmish is no slouch, either.

As to '1st Production Runs' from BM, I bought a new 760BK LTi this past summer so labelled - because it was nearer perfect than the other 760s and at the same price.
