Is the grey calypso jr's edge too weak?

I love this knife, but I had to do some impromptu wire stripping, and I find that the blade get impacted and one distinct chip on the edge.
Now I've done this with other FRN Spydies with minimal impact on the edge, but this one does surprise me somewhat.
Anyone experiencing similar problems?

Sharpen it out a few times....sometimes the edge steel is weakened by the factory sharpening process through heat. IMO only. Once you get past the effected area, should do OK.

Once you've sharpened out the belt marks and hollows, the edge will be more durable. With the Calypso, Jr., you can just use the 30 degree setting on your Sharpmaker and should be able to finish before too too long.

I sharpenend mine at 30°, not because of any flaws, but because it seems to me it cuts better this way. Since I use it mostly as a slicer, the edge isn't that stressed.
