As the title say, is the izula too much for my edc in college or urban ? Tell me your opinion and reason, also your suggest if it's too much, i just want to think carefully before i buy it.
I like the izula just because it's model, size, and i could create some creative paracord warp onto it lol
Beside that, currently i have mini toothpick case with me everyday for edc, will izula replace it for good ? Thanks alot

If you're me, will you bring that izula as in my condition, i want to hear you guys opinion. Thanks

If you are speaking of price then yea I think they are priced kind of high for a peice of metal without any handles.
If you mean if it will be practical, then well thats for you to decide. If it makes you happy and you enjoy using it then it will be fine for you.

What i mean too much is like hmmmm i dont know how to say it, but something like overkill stuff to use in urban for edc
Should i bring fixed blade like izula or the same size like izula as edc ?

I've EDC'd my ESEE-4 in an urban environment before carrying my Izula everywhere I go. I think you'll be fine with an Izula in an urban environment.

the izula is my EDC for over a year now. it probably is too much in college though, as every college i know of has a ban on firearms and knives. as long as you don't break any college/state rules and laws by carrying it, its a great fixed EDC option

In an urban environment there will be people, and where there is people there will be a social mindset. Depending on where you live, this social mindset toward knives may be anywhere from indifference to outright horror. I guess the question is, would using it to open a sandwich packet in front of your fellow college freshmen in a crowded bistro draw any unwanted attention? If no, then by all means, carry it to your heart's content. If it does draw flak by anything more than the odd soccer mom, then a docile-looking folder like a SAK might suit you better.

Depends on the college, although I don't think it would be a problem as long as it's not concealed. It's a pretty small blade, so it's under most restrictions.

I never got anything but compliments from people on the izula, its a really non threatening design, especially if you get it in one of the non black epoxy coat colors.

The only downside is that they aren't very good slicers given the thickness of the blade, which is somewhat important for my typical around town tasks vs work and camping needs.

The Isula is a great fixed blade EDC. It's really small and discrete. You can't really tell it's in your pocket until you need it! My girl really loves it so much she would rather carry it in her pocket than a folder!

Some here might think it's great for urban EDC, some might think it's ridiculous.

But we cant tell you how you feel. That is entirely up to you.

For now, it's no rule that i cant bring any knife as i use it properly :D
So it's nice option huh ?

That's a real problem for me, in my social enviroment here, people think negatively much to a knife, lol i think it's just a knife right, but yea, i cant change those people mindset, but as i see izula got an attractive design, i think people who see it wont got intimidate by its look ? What do you think ? Hahah

Ahhhh, niceee,i hope so, i hope there's no problem when i come up with that knife :D

So it's not good to slice something with it ? Hemmmm, i will think about it then ..

Ive never bring and use any fixed blade in urban before, so how should i do to know what it real feels ?
Hemmmm

I EDC a fixed blade in an urban setting on a regular basis. IZULA is a good choice, although once you get started on the fixed blade EDC path, you may find that you have opened the door to a monster :)

I EDC one all the time in the city and never have second thoughts about it. It does depend on the college, I'd imagine. Pick something that you are comfortable with.

I have before as well, and I've never had any trouble doing so. And if you can get away with it in Chicago, I'm sure you can do so in a college town.

If you're in college, just tuck it in you backpack and leave it there until needed. Slicing can be greatly improved by reprofiling. They come with 40 degree inclusive bevels. I reprofile mine to about 27.5 degrees inclusive and it slices like a laser...plus at that angle, it is easy to touch up on a 30 degree Sharpmaker is minutes.

Depending upon the "gentility" of your urban setting you may want to have a "gentleman's knife" in your pocket for the more obvious tasks...a nice well-made pen knife with which to sharpen a pencil in an exam or whatever. A mother of pearl handle or ivory like material will freak nobody out. Keep one blade razor sharp for hangnails and the other for sharpening pencils, cutting open packages, opening envelopes, etc.

I would then have an Izula or something bigger, deep inside the backpack...which in college is EDC let's face it...for tough jobs that you may come upon.

Check your college rules carefully on knives. As for me I would probably carry it somewhere out of sight ( backpack ) but if security sees you with a fixed blade knife you may have to whip out the rules section to tell why it is OK (if it is). For some reason a fixed blade knife is something that "raises hackles" when it comes to security. Bottom line ...check you rules and be prepared to defend what you are doing or have. Be Right. As for the Izula Knife itself. I got one right after Christmas and carry it as a neck knife EDC...love it.
