There were only 200 made of the Black DLC coated TILT knives made and they sell for well over $600 if they ever go on sale. Been looking everywhere. Local dealer who owns a knife shops who use to work at Kershaw says a new run is coming in 2014 DLC coated blade all black using CPM S30V steel. Price unknown ? $300 ish or less. I really don't like VANAX75 steel on the original TILT impossible to get it to take an edge.

Any word guys ?

um.... 1) Not happening, Thomas, and many other KAI reps have said so. 2) The original didn't even go for $300 originally,(IIRC) why would the new ones with a lesser steel cost more? 3) You must not be sharpening correctly, cause my TiLT, is a scalpel.

The OP got busted from the other thread.

Willing to spend $600 on a Black DLC Kershaw Tilt regret not buying it on ebay last week. Only 200 Black DLC ever made Wonder Why Kershaw does not make another run of the TILT using CPMS30V steel and sell all of them for $300 over night.

Probably meant well and wanted to spark the interest, but as far as finding the local dealer stating a new TILT (to his exact wanted specs) coming out, I don't believe it.

As much as I would want another Tilt run so that way I can finally get one....I don't think it's happening. And that's a shame. So many people want one...so the demand is there....people paying over 600 for them would mean it would be easy to sell them for 300 and under. Kvt with Elmax, s35v, s30v would be awesome.

i hope it doesnt happen. the TILT only has the allure it does because its a unicorn.... make lots of them, no longer a unicorn. It needs to stay the way it was, and is, perfect.

The OP probably meant well. It's all good.

All the Limited Edition runs alone have an appeal to them. People that missed out will someday really want the 0560CBCF, 0600, 0454, etc...

it was just an odd way to spark interest...lying.

Well I don't think that's completely true. This thing is light, but packs away a big hefty blade.

I thought Vanax was about the best steel Uddeholm makes? I'll bet Kai does make another Wharncliffe bladed knife (or reverse tanto with straight cutting edge, whatever it's called) but not with the kind of handle the Tilt had. There are a lot of options on that. Hinderer now makes one, but doubt you could get one for less than a Tilt unless you're in police, emergency services, or the military.

Read the thread again man. OP probably hasnt even held a tilt much less own one or try to sharpen one. He probably read someone elses post about the steel and is repeating what he heard, not what he experienced.
