Is the Kiwi way to small?...

...I ordered one of the carbon fiber models which will be here today, knowing they're on the chop list. Just curious how daily carry friendly they are? Anyone REALLY like this one? The Kopa is pretty cool, though a bit ergonomically awkword.

It's a nice fit for me. I carry it for dressy occasions where a clipped knife is not appropriate.

Most tasks can be done with virtually anything sharp. I suppose if you had to break down a few dozen cardboard boxes it might be a pain, other than that I'm sure the Kiwi is a great EDC blade.

I love my kiwis and I post this pic whenever someone brings it up :p

It's a very sharp knife that fit's nice in the hand, like Joshua J. said probably don't want to be shredding through cardboard with it..although capable with the high grind and lock back design. It comes with a very nice leather sheath/sleeve for it can easily fits in any pocket. I keep mine on the inside of my jacket as a 2ndary knife or when in a situation people may freak out if seeing anything bigger.

I would not categorize it as the "primary" edc blade, but for fancy occasions or just simple stuff like letter opening is nice.

Cool pic Zippo. So I just opened it a few minutes ago. Very nice fit and finish! The carbon fiber scales have an almost polished sheen as opposed to what comes on the CF Native and Caly3. Small as it is, it should work well as a throw in your pocket and go folder. I do like it more than the Kopa for ergos. Thanks for the reply guys.

I would actually love to see a slip-it version of the Kiwi. The front choil helps the finger keep the blade open anyway, and it's a great size and shape for small jobs, just pull it out quickly, cut, close, done.

Good idea, and without the lock, the scale would be complete on each side.

Thats a great idea, I second this. And I want a 1.5x size with a lock for a larger, sturdy, well designed EDC.

Deacon should be along shortly. I have big hands and the kiwi still fits great. One of my Spydie favs.

I've got the same Carbon Fiber Kiwi. Great knife. It will fit just right in the watch pocket in my Levi's to make it real handy to EDC. The Kiwi also fits in my hand like it was custom made for me. Quite well balanced too.

I had a coral Kiwi for a few weeks last spring. I loved the deep choil and finger grooves -- the handle just seemed to melt into my medium hands. I also liked the point wharncliffe and thin grind. The fit, finish, and action were elegant and precise.

Ultimately, I had bad environmental vibes about the coral and wanted to free up funds so I sold it off. For the knife equity it represented, it just didn't seem to offer much advantage (other than aesthetics and class) over my growing Ladybug assortment.

I secretly look forward to a user Kiwi popping up as a sweetener on a future trade.

Too small? Not at all. I find that size of knife very useful when it has a well-designed and sharp blade.

All this talk about the Kiwi made me break down and order the carbon fiber version. Seems like a classy knife for a great price.

I love my Kiwi. It's a small knife, but it feels big in hand.

I bought it as a dress knife, but it's seen quite a bit of pocket carry time without a dressy occasion to go to.

I find it goes really well with a larger knife, and the pocket sheath keeps it from rubbing up against the handle of a clipped knife when you sit down.

Turns out I can't keep this little guy out of my pocket. The quality is top notch & size is great. Glad I didn't pass this one up. I'd love to find a tiger coral inlayed version!

I still get use out of my old Spyderco keychain knife that is a lot smaller than the Kiwi. That blade is getting even smaller and smaller as the years go by....................

The Kiwi has had my attention for a while, I might have to get one.

I liked it so much that I got two in carbon fiber.
It works great to slice open a box or an envelope. The blade shape is also perfect for use as a marking knife in woodworking.
It has displaced my other knives in my pocket.
