It seems like people have a hard time finding these knives and it's giving me the impression that there are a limited number to have.

it was discontinued from normal production in 2008. they are still available in the form of annual LE's.

The reason I ask is because my fiancee is supposed to be getting me a micarta sebenza for my engagement gift.

Are they still making these?

They are back ordered at a lot of places. I've been waiting for a Large 21 for a couple weeks at least but I recently changed it to an Umnumzaan so I may be waiting longer now . . .

The "Regular" has the scalloped lock bar, whereas the Classic(not made anymore) and the "21" just have the half moon cut out on the lock bar.
The Micarta is AWESOME!!! Get it!!!
Oh and CRK still makes the annual Sebenza and it is a regular version and only a regular version. That is the only way a new CRK regular can be had. Not plain but only in the annual Sebenza.

Well that's the way it is. Like it or not Mr. Reeve can do whatever he wants and not everything he does is welcomed. Just look at all the fuss when he stopped making the regulars and had the 21 to replace it.

Thanks! I'm pumped about getting it and it took a looooot of thought to decide on the micarta. I wanted the insignio but I guess they don't offer that style with micarta. So a large micarta sebbie it is.

Regular Small (Both the Large and Small is discontinued) Note the scallops rather then the half moon on the Handle:

21 Large Insingo. Note the halfmoon cutout near the thumbstud as well as the but of the knife area:

I know the date on the Insingo Picture is wrong. Wish I still had the small Regular. Soon after the announcement it was being discontinued it was taken.

Yes, exactly. He can do whatever he wants, as he owns the company. And whether people like it or not, the frequent whining about some of his "unpopular" decisions will probably not make him change his mind. So why keep up the drama?

No drama just making a relative statement. Why create drama by making a gross smiley? That stuff doesn't belong here. Take it to Wine & Cheese forum Kind of dramatic wasn't it?

I think drama is the wrong word perhaps opinions may be a better word.

I don’t believe Chris Reeve makes knives for his own pleasure but for others to buy and enjoy. Bringing him more satisfaction is the fact that people buy his product. In a capitalistic society unpopular business decisions may not be the best way to sell your products.
