Is the Little Temperance Leaf Blade the Real Military Jr.?

I know that for a couple of years, Sal talked about the possibility of producing the Military jr. This knife would be a smaller version of the Military with a compression lock and maybe a 3 1/8" blade. I happen to feel that now that The Lil' Temperance leaf blade is available, a knife like the Military jr. would be redundant. The Temperance is already a robust 3" bladed flat ground knife with a compression lock. Who else feels the same?

I disagree.
The Military is thin and light while the Lil Temperance is thick and heavy. The ergonomics, while nice on both, are strikingly different. While I love my Lil Temperances, I drool in anticipation of the ParaMilitary.

I disagree as well. The knives are dissimilar in design, approach and concept. TOTC has pretty well summed it up in his post.

TOTC, I see your point about the Military being a thin design while the Lil' Temperance is pretty thick. Still, if the Paramilitary has the Compression Lock, it won't be too thin. The basic design of that lock requires two liners. I find the parallel between the Temperance and military to be their wide, flat ground blades which make for wonderful slicers. Even if the Temperance doesn't look like the military jr, their function should be very similar.

I might be totally delusional, but I seem to remember Sal posting in this forum that the Compression Lock does not require two liners. Can't seem to find that quote now, though

(Actually, I am totally delusional :))

It has been posted several times that the combination of the compression lock and synthetic handles requires double liners.

.. but that could be dual nested liners... not much more than the current millie for thickness...

There was prototype of the Paramilitary/Military Jr. at the Blade Show. The prototype looked like a smaller version of the Military but with a compression lock (or ball lock, can't remember) and sand colored G-10. I do not remember the exact specs; however, when it is made, I will have one.

I plan on getting one also. I just remembered something else; I believe the Military revision will also have dual liners and a compression lock. I would think they'll both be nested, but I don't know.

BTW, I don't know if I like this "ball lock" deal, I hope neither have it.

Edited for spelling.
