Title says it - I've been looking for the smallest Victorinox SAK model that comes w/ pliers and so far my best answer is the Mechanic. If you agree or know of another model that's smaller and has pliers, please let me know. Thanks,

John

In 91mm format, I believe it is the Special mechanic that is the thinnest in terms of width(only 2 layers). But I am not too sure whether it is still available for purchase.

For finding the right SAK with the tool you want, another very handy feature on Victorinox website is the 'toolfinder'.

Ah yes you're right, the Special Mechanic (aka the Jr. Mechanic) is the smallest official SAK w/ the pliers. Seems it was marketed to Radio Shack for a brief period of time. Now the hunt is on...thanks

Yes, for practical purposes the Mechanic is the smallest with pliers. The Mechanic Jr is smaller, but basically impossible to find. The Wenger Journeyman is a wee bit smaller, but it is out of production also. The Wenger is only 85 mm vs the ViC Mechanic at 91mm. I have a Mechanic, carried it a long time, then switched to the Deluxe Tinker (with pliers) that I carry in a belt pouch.
You can still find the Wenger Journeyman occassionally on ebay, but I've never seen a Mechanic Jr.
