Is the Mnandi easy to open with one hand?

I really like the looks of the Mnandi, but I've been wondering about its opening mechanism... Do you need to insert a thumbnail or is it easy to open with the pad of the thumb? Basically, can you one-hand it easily or does it really ask for two?

Depends on the person doing the opening. I can use my thumb-pad without a problem, others do need to use both hands. I am afraid you will have to try it and see.

I have no problem with one hand opening. It is not as smooth and fast in comparison with the CRK thumb stud.

Fine little knife for carry to the office, I tend to take out and while thinking,,,,open/close/open/close.

I have removed the clip and carry the Mnandi in an early small CRK leather pouch (smaller than the pouch made today). The pens and Mnandi kept getting tangled up in my shirt pocket.

I can open mine with just the thumb pad, but it takes some concentration and I cannot open it as quickly as the Small Sebenza.

I can open it faster of I open it with the thumb and the middle finger of the same hand on the backside nick. This a bit more reliable for me, and how I generally open it.

Finally, you can also perform a Spyderdrop on it and this works well. Pinch the blade with thumb and index finger and flick down with your wrist. Pops right open. Not recommended by CRK however.
