Is the paramilitary 2 hard to open?

I once had a paramilitary 1 but found that the compression lock was very stiff and hard to open with one hand. May be I got a bad sample, I don't know. I like the looks of paramilitary 2 but am a bit concerned about the stiffness of the lock. Can any brother with the PM2 share their experiences? Thanks!

I have one Para 2. The lock is not what I would characterize as "stiff". Very smooth.

Mine's really smooth. The detent is pretty strong, but if you put your thumb in the spydie hole and flick your thumb it is lightning fast. I found mine would stick a little when i first got it but if you hit it with a small spray of rem-oil that will take care of it.

Mine is easy to unlock now that ive gotten used to the odd placement of the compression lock.

I would say mine was slightly stiff when I got it it has gotten much more easy to open and close in limited time I have carried it. I would not consider the Para 2 to be a stiff knife to open or close compared to cold steel or some other brands .

The lock wouldn't affect the ease of opening. But i guess that maybe u're not used to the para2 strong detent, which keeps the blade in closed position

My para2 has a very strong detent, yet I can still flick that blade open lightning fast. Don't get me wrong, I think a strong detent is awesome :)

2 P1s and 2 P2s and all smooth. Aside from an Axis lock knife they are the easiest to open using the lock alone.

I found mine took a little while to break in, but once I had been using it for a little while it became as smooth as any liner or frame lock I've ever used.

If you mean is the blade easy to open then yes it's smooth as butter and actually fairly addictive to flick and spydie drop hours on end.

If you mean is the compression lock sticky and hard to release then the answer is not usually. Some come a bit sticky like some liner locks can be. A bit of pencil lead on the tang fixed it for me.
