Is the Persian any easier to open?

I cannot decide whether to order a Persian. I got my first Emerson, CQC-15, not long ago and I really love the brand, I am starting a collection. My CQC-15 is almost impossible to flick open with thumb only, and I do not want to use wrist flicking as I have read it could damage the mechanism in the long run, especially with the titanium lock. I do not mind this and I would not mess around with the pivot, because I deploy the knife with the wave feature almost without failure.
But the Persian does not have a wave feature, so could someone share their experience with it in terms of deployment of the blade? I guess I will buy the knife eventually despite the answers, but they will help me decide which Emerson to get next.

First of all, these knives really aren't made to be flicked open. The disk is not the best attribute to flicking. Slow and steady wins the race, or if you prefer wave it open. Too many people have an obsession with flicking their knives. All it does is draw immediate and mostly negative attention.
Its more about familiarity with the kpnives than anything else. You would be surprised at how manypeople thqt are new to one brand or another have trouble and then blame the knife. Never the possibility that they are unfamiliar with the knife, or tht they have insufficient dexterity in their hand, or just push the wrong direction.

+1 even a flipper could be smooth and non threateningly.

When someone waves their Emerson open with a resounding one-handed thwack, it imparts as much or more force on the knife as flicking it, and is just as attention-grabbing as waving it. And Emersons are certainly made to be waved.

Depends on construction, hinderers could take it, production kershaws? Dunno...it is a lot of torque forces on the pivot and stop pin.

A trick someone tougth me bout waving the Persian, you can actually doublestack the thumbdisc. Just order another one from EKI.
USe some loctight. Or perhaps get a longer screw. It works though. Specially if you give it a little twist when waving.

Mine opens as quickly as any other non-waved Emerson I have - which is quickly and reliable.

I've noticed that Emerson's are not flick-friendly. Fine with me - I don't need to flick my knives open to get them open reliably. Building muscle memory from methodically opening (slowly), unlocking, and closing works better for me.

Of course, that is what the floating stop pin is for, to distribute wear evenly. Most folders do not emply a floating stop pin. Also, a thumbdisk is quite different in terms of a hole, thumbstud, or flipper as you have less surface area. Typically the disk will not afford the purchase to provide traction. Some folks operate under the assumption that all folders are made to be flicked open, not true in my experience.

Flicking also relies on built up tension created by a strong detent-which Emersons really don't have.

Take it apart and lube it up. Work the blade while sitting in front of the Tv. The action will become smooth as glass on any Emerson IMO.....
