Is the rtak a good choper?

I prefer an axe or chain saw.

I really don't understand why you would buy a knife to chop with. I understand chopping occasionally if you have no choice, but I just don't get buying one for that primary purpose.

Wouldn't a folding saw be a better investment?

My only experience with the RTAK is with the original model. Over the course of three hunting seasons I broke three of them chopping saplings and limbing them after they were down. I must say that Ontario's customer service was excellent and they replaced the knives no questions asked, but, after the last one broke I just trashed it and bought a different brand of large knife. Can't speak about the RTAKII.
Just my two cents.

Shhhhhhhh....knives are supposed to be indestructible, capable of tasks far beyond their metallurgical properties might provide, and be used for an infinite number of tasks far beyond their manufacturers' representations. Didn't you know that?
