Hi. I'm on the brink of getting one. Will it stand up well to battoning small sticks, hitting on the end with a stick , whittling poles, etc ?? Also concerned about tip strength. If you guys have one , and been hard on it , I'd like to hear about it. I want to get the TiNi Black , plain edge , with Kydex sheath.

Thanks fellas. :)

ps: Just read the SPE kydex fail thread. I believe I could solve the fastener problem ( If indeed there is one. ) I don't trust the small screws that come with sheath hangers .

Batoning VOIDS the SOG warranty. So will hitting on the end with a stick. And also using the tip for prying. No bushcrafty stuff on SOG's knives. Except for whittling and slicing.

I have heard and seen good reviews on the Seal Pup Elite. I have no doubt it will do will as a bushcraft knife. You might want to get the Satin finish as over time scratches will show on the black tiNi.

Thanks for responding. I'm not about to go and trash the heck out of it ; just want to know how it stands up to long term woods use. I've also heard a lot of good things about it as a good slicer and general backpacking knife ( due to the light weight.) I really like the Zytel handle , it affords a good grip.

Thanks.

I carry the Seal Pup Elite with me when hiking and/or camping and I can't say enough about it. probably not most peoples first choice but it works for me and never had an issues. If you chose to go with this knife let me know and I can save you some cash. you really can't go wrong with any of the SOG Seal Pups. :)

Not to thread drift on my own thread...but NO KIDDING  For that price , I could of gotten my A1 and a Tech Bowie.

Back to SOG : I've done some shopping around , but I want to see if the new NW Ranger will make it to my dealer. If not , the Seal Pup gets my dough .

Mine along with my Super Bowie is my EDC. For four years it has batoned, chopped, skinned deer, cut wire, drywall, sheetmetal, & even chopped through a cinder block! Still is tuff as nails, crazy sharp, & very dependable!
Hope these photos help! GOD Bless!

Gentlemen, this is a knife discussion thread. Please discuss sales in the Exchange forums.

I have beat the crap out of my seal pup for 7 years and it is still going strong.
