Is the spine of a stainless Mora unfinished like on the carbon ones?

Pretty simple question today... Lets just say specifically on a companion incase its different on other models.

TIA.

Not on my stainless companion. It's unfinished. Same on my 546G. I had to dremel a square-edge on the spine for a short section near the handle to use with a fire rod. There wasn't enough of an edge to throw a spark from the factory.

I have a stainless companion and a carbon no. 1. I'd say the companion is pretty finished, especially compared to the nice rough looking spine of the 1. It is slightly rounded so I could see manowar needing to square it off, but it's smooth and shiny, though not quite as mirrored as the sides of the blade. Hmm, well now I just don't know.

Carbon Companions are unfinished on the spine. Stainless and Robust models are fully finished, with a radius on the spine (rounded rather than squared.)

I hate to be contrary but I am not sure there is a pattern to what is finished and what's not. For example, my Robusts came unfinished.

Not my stainless Companion...thought it is probably 3-4 years old. I'm sure they have been through new models and builds since then.

The first generation of stainless ones had unfinished spines. All since have had finished ones. Same with the Robusts.

Got my Companions, stainless and carbon Heavy Duty, last year. All nicely finished but I had to take an axe file to the spines to square them off. My old carbon Erickson's got the same treatment. I get a hell of a spark shower off the carbons, pretty fair off the stainless.
