  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Is the srk still worth buying as a hard use survival knife under gsm? Is it still the same knife heat treat or have they cut corners as you say?

I wouldn't buy another one. I gave mine to a friend and he snapped the tip on his first day of use with light up and down (not side to side) levering in wood. Compared to a 8 dollar knife, the hultafors gk knife, which is also sk5, this just makes me thinking something is really off with the srk sk5. I used the hultafors hard, battoning, even with a hammer, and you just can't break or even damage it seriously. And it's even thinner bladestock. The tip won't snap eather. Maybe it is the steel composition or the heat treatment.
