Is the Starmate in full production?

Hello Sal, or anyone else who can answer this question.

I have been trying to find dealers that carry the Starmate (plain edge). The Knife Center advertises the Starmate but have none in stock, (they have the best price I've seen so far.) and seem unable to tell me when they will get some. I'm wondering why it is so hard to find, why are more dealers not carrying it? Is it in full production or in limited quantities?

 
I am also looking for a Starmate.When will they be readily available?

For some strange reason we allways have the Spydies available here in Sweden before you have them in the US. The Zowada we had in
-I think- february or maybe march. Both the "R" and the Starmate have been available here for some time now. Great blades both of them.
 
SharpCdn - They're shipping. Hard to get them everywhere at once. Demand at this time exceeds supply so they rarely "sit on a shelf anywhere" Might be best to order one from your dealer.

I ordered my plain edge Starmate at ironstone.
You may have heared about the spyderco factory outlet. Their webpage is under construction (www.fe3stone.com)and should be finished in about two weeks (last I heared).

As Sal said the Starmates are shipping, but unfortunately no where near a capacity that would touch our backorders. They are extremely difficult to get a hold of and if you find any dealer, including the Spyderco Direct, that has more than a few you are extremely lucky.

We are working to increase production but do not expect backorders to be caught up for several months.
