When I say true full tang, Is the tang the same size/thickness as the blade all the way to the butt...?? Or does it have a tang that tapers down towards the end..?? I would like to buy this knife and modify the blade and handle a bit to make it shorter and possibly re handle it.

I can't find any info on this.....

Yes, you can do it. Ontario Spec-Plus series do have a tang that goes into the handle. I believe the lanyard grommet goes through the tang. They are NOT a full WIDTH full tang (like a Becker-meaning you can see it all the way around). They are NOT a rat tail tang (meaning they taper down like a rats tail. They are not the thickness of the blade, they are about 1/2" or a little more all the way down. VERY solid knives. I have many SP's & have batoned the snot out of them. No issues. Hold a great edge. Easy to sharpen. Made in America. I will be buying more.

Not a bad one in the bunch.

On the short list: SP51 & SP53. I LOVES me some sabre grinds ! LOL :D

They are between a stick tang and something like a Becker or ESEE, kind of like an F1. I think you could do it.

thanx for the reply bubba, but could you show me a pic of what type of tang your talking about.

.....nevermind bubba, Twin stick posted just as I was replying to yours

hmmm....thx for the info, prolly not even worth trying to mess with the handle. I may just leave it be.

Reason I was asking is because I kept snagging an anza that I was carrying vertical on my belt on trees, ledges, etc....we were in very rough terrain. So I wanted to find a cheaper larger knife I could carry horizontal in the small of my back on belt.

Well, i ain't gonna lie, their sheaths are just barely adequate. They do that to keep initial cost lower. BUT---IMHO, any knife that is worth having or is a favorite of yours, DESERVES its own sheath. If you choose carefully, you will like it more. You will wear it more. It will be more secure. You will be able to draw it & re-sheath it with one hand. It will move with you for all day comfort when working/bending/squatting & entering & exiting vehicles/atv's/or getting onto/off of horses or pickup beds. You owe it to yourself to get a good sheath. I am not in very good shape, yet i can carry my BK9/Gerber Metolius combo all day with no issues.

The drop leg swivel & the 1.5" elastic leg strap with quick release buckle makes ALL the difference.
