I have been looking for a stockman with this sort of profile, the slender main blade I'm particular off what I like. The Ulster 58ot and I think the schrade 61ot seem to be pretty close to my ideal, but I'm wondering if either is stainless. I know the ot line is "mostly" carbon steel, but there are a few stainless ones. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

The 58OT was offered as a promotion for Reynolds Tobacco until 1973. Judging from this time frame, I suspect that the 58OT is indeed carbon steel.

Take a look at the Uncle Henry 897UH. It's got different style scales, but otherwise is basically a stainless 58OT.

My Ulster 58OT is carbon.

Like Cory said, the 897UH is very similar if you want stainless.

I have a couple Ulster 58OT knives - they are both made of carbon steel. WMB, you must find the old (USA made) Old Timer knives to get carbon steel - the current, imported Old Timers are made of stainless steel. In the photo Yablanowitz provided note the "Schrade +" on the Uncle Henry tang - that mark denoted stainless steel blades on the old USA line. OH

Thanks everyone. It its indeed the carbon I'm after. There are a few usa schrade ot knives that are stainless, but I don't know about the Ulster branded ones. Thanks for the help.
