Is the Urban worth the current price?

So I missed out on the Urban while it was in production. I like the looks of it, but am wondering if it's worth the current price (close to MSRP.) I've seen reviews mention F&F issues, with one reviewer stating that it wasn't worth more than $50. Would I be better off with something currently in production?

Nt knowing your economic status, the best (and most generic answer) may apply. It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

I like the design, but I'm concerned about the quality. I would probably be disappointed if the quality was similar to that of a $50 knife, as one reviewer suggested. Considering that it originally retailed for $80-$90, I would expect quality to be on that level. I've always been happy with my MIJ Spydercos, and am wondering if F&F is on par.

The quality of my urban was on par with any +$100 spyderco I own. Do you live in an area that doesn't allow a lock? If not I recommend a caly 3.5.

[To my knowledge] there are no knife-restrictions in my immediate area, although the Caly 3.5 is a bit too big for me to feel comfortable carrying. I mainly wanted the Urban because I like the design, and for the rare occasions when I visit an area with restrictive knife-laws.

I'd say night and day. The slip joint is much stiffer on the urban which is good. I prefer g10 over FRN any day.

But I do really like the squeak.

No question my Urban wharncliffe has very strong spring pressure, positive clicking action, and very good fit and finish. It's one of my "keepers" and my go-to small knife.

That said, I'm not sure what current price is. Pic for fun with i3s eos

Current price is around $130. It sound like I'll like it though.

I had a G10 UK pen knife, and assuming the Urban is of the same quality, I think you'll really like it. It's definitely worth more than $50 as a user, but for $130 you have a lot of other good options.

The Urban is an outstanding little knife. I really like both the green leaf blade and orange wharncliffe versions. I've had several over the years - but now that the stock is becoming exhausted, the prices are starting to climb. Since the discontinued model originally went to Sierra Trading Post and was steeply discounted, the price has crept up and up and up.

I also really like the Squeak, but it is a different blade shape with different ergonomics. One suggestion - you could buy a Squeak for less than half the price of an Urban and fabricate some new scales - from a material of your choice. The Squeak is probably the easiest knife in the current production lineup to modify with replacement scales.
