Is the warranty service going to change from the GSM Outdoors buyout?

yes. I've dealt with gsm firsthand its a complete nightmare. I could type all day on the nightmare of wasted time, empty promises, having to produce receipts from authorized dealers, long hold times on the phone, no one answering the phone, no returned phone calls from messages left, and then refusals to fulfill, but im not gonna.......

Definitely not a good way to run a business. One would think competition would force a company to try to please buyers with politeness and good service. Guess that is not always the case!

I can't see it getting any worse than I've experienced from them in the past. Pretty much what JB said.

If what they did to Cold Steel is any indication expect absolutely zero customer service at all. Prices will go way up, like laughably high, while quality is slashed. And no, no one answering the phone knows what a knife is or cares what they sent you.

Can confirm the warranty has changed. For example, I once get a set of XR springs sent to me because I'm canadian and can't send my knife in for warranty. It was really nice of them as that is not their official policy, but I got a quick reply and friendly service. I sent in an email to GSM warranty and didn't get a reply for 2 months. I eventually called, it is now just a general line - the representative I spoke to while a seemingly nice guy - didn't know anything about SOG or their knives. I was informed GSM didn't even have a part number for SOG XR springs and don't produce any extras, so it wouldn't be possible to ship me any springs. I have three SOG XR lock knives with broken springs, so sadly I'm just going to toss them in a drawer and use other knives now.
