Is the wave much bigger on the Super Karambit compared to the Combat Karambit?

Reason I ask...

I can only get the Combat Karambit to deploy about 50% of the time and I have practiced a lot.

I also have a Roadhouse and a Commander. I also found that with the Commander I can only get it to deploy approx 75% of the time.

However, with the Roadhouse, I cannot pull it out of any pants pocket without it opening. I compared the size of all the waves and found the Roadhouse to have the largest, followed by the Commander and then the Karambit.

So I'm thinking about upgrading to the Super Karambit - what do you guys think?

*The functionality of the wave is very important to me as I carry it on duty and depend on it, and a Spartan CQB tool, for handgun grabs.*

I think you should practise more. I have a Combat Karambit, CQC-15, 7 and a Commander and when I got the Coomander, I noticed it'd only wave about 50% of the time but, with familiarity it does it everytime now.

The Karambit opens everytime for me in the forward grip. I haven't tried the reverse grip deployment much as in a high stress situation I believe the knife would be easier to use and be more effective in the forward grip.

I opted for the Super Karambit for me the combat was a little small. In the left pocket it open and locks very easily with the wave, maybe try it higher on the pocket? As for size the only other Emerson I have is a CQC 8. I compared the waves and the Super has the larger wave also the curve of the blade made it easier to use than the 8. I gotta work on my cqc draw some more as I have that same issue with my 8.

I don't own the Super, but the Wave looks very similar on both. The Super is much larger than the Combat though.

How are you carrying the Combat Karambit? I typically carry mine in my rear weak side pocket. When I draw the CK, I angle the knife out slightly to catch the back of my pocket. It waves every time. If you are carrying it in your front pocket, try angling it as you draw it.

Very informative comparison video, I paused and zoomed in on the waves. The Super's wave has a deeper scoop than the combat. Now is this a big difference, not really to me anyway. Now if the combat feels small go for the Super. Other than that just try working on your wave technique. I'm getting better waving my cqc 8 despite a few bites.
