Is the Zero Tolerance a good knife?

Hey guys, I apologize about leaving the model out of the title, but the 0350 is the one in question. I never owned one but a shop I visit from time to time has one in stock. I'm interested in the 0350 quality and durability. I bought a new 0566 model some time back. I liked the 0566 but the flipper was pretty stiff. I may sell a couple knives to help fund this one.

I'm not a huge fan of the 0350...I let mine bounce around my desk and kitchen counter for a couple years, then sold it. I did keep my M390 version, to which I added custom scales.
The 0350 isn't a bad knife; but between the blade shape and the length:width ratio, it just wasn't for me.

I'm not sure about the recurve and it looked a little on the chunky side. I have read some good things about it though. I just wanted to get some opinions from you guys though.

The 350 is a great knife ... its comfortable having both sides G10 with the liner lock provides a nonslip grip. Its a sturdy knife and a good cutter not too thick as some think. The only thing about it and it is kind of up to each individual to decide ... it is a recurve and takes a bit more to sharpen but its not bad.

I use my 0350 the most. I have a 0566, 0562, 561, 0630/0620, 0200, 0301 and a 450. The handle has a nice shape for grip. I did have one issue where my middle finger would end up on the bump that starts the index finger indention. I grinded the hump just a little and it is perfect for my hand.
I de-assisted my 350 and 566. They are smooth opening and the thing stud is easier to use .

i liked the knife, held a good edge and reasonably easy to sharpen. The clip sucked, too much of the knife stuck out of my pocket. The width folded in the pocket compared to length wasn't great either. If the blade was longer for the same width would have been a keeper with a low ride clip. As it was I passed it along.

The 350 was my first ZT and it is a heck of a good knife especially for the money.

Love that wood scale. Can i ask where you got that? And the model number?
The knife was KW's original run in M390, with black G10 scales. The scales are desert ironwood, made by Cuscadi - they were a custom order.

I was my first ZT and it is for me everything a ZT shall be

it is robust, compact, heavy and comfortable to use

IMHO it is the ZT equivalent of a PM2 at spyderco... in a heavier package

The recurve is easy to sharpen on my spyderco sharpmaker, no issue there and this shape make it an excellent slicer (the blade is not so thick)

I carry it when I don't know if I may need a fixed blade

I have a 0350, two 0801, a 0562, a 0550 and a 0630
The 0350, 0630 and 0550 are the one I really trust for hard use.
The 0350 is the more compact of the 3
The blade length of 3.25 may be short since you may want to really use it for hard tasks that may require a longer blade

Since the blade is not as thick as on a 0550 for example, i use it more as a chopper as a prybar
For torsions the 0550 will be better

I like the 0350 a lot ;)

Great knife for sure. I particularly like the 0360 skd variant. It has a "pointier" tip and a glass breaker. Have had either a 0350 or 0360 since they came out. Used it for everything from work to my turnout gear. You honestly will not go wrong with this model. It just works.

Recurves have more cutting power and are not harder to maintain than any other edge. The 0350 is supposed to be a "chunky" it's one of the first designs from ZT. When they first came out, it was a 0300, only 10% smaller, made to be solid and robust. As you've seen, the newer ZT knives have evolved into more elaborately designed collaborations and more exotic materials.

A 0350 with the tiger striped blade is my first, and so far only, ZT. I'd wanted one ever since seeing it's big brother on NCIS. It's chunkier and heavier than my usual carry, but it's fun to carry and use. The assist flings the blade out with a loud thwack. (Might be as loud as dropping the slide on my P3AT.) Built like a tank, the weight and design soaks up the assist torque way better than my Scallion, though. It cuts great, and isn't hard to touch up on the Sharpmaker. Classic ZT and classic Ken Onion, IMO.

The 350 in s30v is super-steel-enough to withstand a beating, and clips on most knives were meant to be upgraded. IMO, the fact that it's still immensely popular is a testament to the design, and uniqueness. Great knife, with excellent action. I say go for it, but I'm quite the enabler. ;)
