Hello everyone,

Just wondering if Amazon requires someone 18 to buy knives on Amazon (I am 17, just be honest). I know that the state of California and the city of Los Angeles does not have a law stating that there's an age required to own a knife. Would the mailman require you to show ID at the time when the mailman ships at the door?

I dont believe there's anything saying you cant buy a knife.

amazon just wants to make a sale to be honest.

Mail person is only required to drop off item to address listed, there will be no ID checking.

If Amazon has such a policy they should have it posted somewhere you can find it. The mailman will not be checking your ID. Postal workers have no authority to deny you a package that is addressed to you based on your age or lack of ID. UPS and Fedex also won't check ID.

If Amazon has an age limit on knife purchases they would use some means of verifying your age prior to accepting the order.

And if Amazon does have an age restriction there are several other knife vendors online who couldn't care less about your age.

No he wouldn't, as the mailman shouldn't know what's being delivered to you. Technically, most websites have rules and general statements saying you can not purchase a knife if you're under the age of 18. However, there is no way for them to check, and as long as your parents know that you are purchasing said knife or tool then there won't be any problem.

There is an old saying: "on the internet no one knows you're a dog".
Go for it.

Unless you ordered it with a signature required or a pickup at an office, I don't see a potential problem. Most B&M stores have a 18+ policy, but that's mainly a liability driven rule and not necessarily a legal one (local laws notwithstanding).

Well, my order end up terribly, it never arrived, and the seller will not help with me issuing a replacement or a refund. Have to send an A-Z guarantee claim for AMAZON to refund me back... If you see a seller called ABCD Sales, never buy it from them.

well that sucks what were you trying to buy? i bought my last Leek directly from kershaw on amazon

I was trying to get a M16-13SFG. Was planning to use it for EDC, well, now I got to spend more money now... right now it's $40, when I buy it from that seller, it was $28...

When you say it never arrived, does that mean it was lost by the delivery company (USPS, UPS, etc) or did the ABCD Sales not ship it by a trackable system or what?

To be honest, I don't even know who's fault was it. The seller did use tracking for my package, and tracking shows that i's already delivered. And USPS claims that it's already been delivered. I did ask my neighbors and they never heard a package going to my house. Well, I already got my refund from Amazon (not from the seller), so I guess I am not going to bother much.

To me it appears that Amazon does not regulate much. I was able to buy butterfly knives off Amazon and I live in Massachusetts.
